Diana Richardson – Phillipus On Transformational Leadership and Why Women Should Reach Their Full Potential

Who is Diana Richardson – Phillipus? My name is Diana Richardson- Phillipus, I have had quite the journey in my life from the time I was born. I am a Pennsylvania native, however I have resided in numerous places from childhood. I like to think that this is what has also contributed to my journey to entrepreneurship. I always knew that I wanted to be an entrepreneur! The stumbling block for me during that time was in what capacity. I’ve always been the type of person that would willingly offer up any type of service from ministering to my friends and family. I have been an avid reader all my life and I particularly enjoyed books that spoke to the power of the Law of Attraction. I remember the very first book on this topic that was introduced to me back in 2001 from a co-worker at the...

Run Well, Stay Strong, Avoid Pain – Christina Neal

Enjoy the many health benefits of running – including a more positive mindset – while reducing your injury risk. Running has numerous health benefits. It’s great for improving heart health, keeping your weight down, and reducing your risk of diabetes and certain cancers. I personally love the idea of keeping my heart healthy through regular running and you don’t have to be super fit or fast to reap the benefits. Running strengthens your heart by decreasing your resting heart rate and improving the size and strength of the heart itself. Experts believe that, from the very first running session (regardless of your speed) you’ll have made a positive change to your heart muscle. However, to keep improving heart health and maintain the benefits, you’ll need to run regularly, ideally ...

‘Leadership is a Mindset’ by Ann Justi

What if you could use your position of power to make yourself a better person? What if you don’t manage or think of yourself as a leader? This article's advice will help you learn and behave as a leader. Leadership is not a title, it’s a mindset. A leadership mindset involves having certain attitudes, beliefs, and expectations that create the foundation of who you are, how you lead others, and how you interact with and influence your colleagues. Mindsets are leaders’ mental lenses that dictate what information they take in and use to make sense of and navigate the situations they encounter. Simply, mindsets drive what leaders do and why. Self-improvement is the key to leadership. You don't have to be a leader to be an example of what it means to grow, change, and learn. You ...

“Staff need to feel valued and appreciated” – Monica Bradley

What are the qualities of a good business leader? Monica Bradley, Managing Director of Cheam-based mortgage broker, MB Associates, talks about her values and beliefs in business. Running a successful business is not just about keeping clients happy, although of course that’s hugely important. An equally crucial aspect of being a business owner and ensuring things run smoothly is keeping staff motivated and making them feel valued. If your staff don’t feel appreciated, they may grow demoralised and eventually you could lose them entirely. This was demonstrated in a 2018 survey from online learning company Udemy. Its survey revealed that nearly half of all employees said they’d quit a job due to a bad manager. Some 60 per cent of staff said they thought their managers needed managerial...

Three Obstacles To Being A Hero – Divya Parekh

In the world of superheroes, every hero has their Achilles heel that can bring them down. Superman had his kryptonite. Iron Man had his vanity. If someone chained together Wonder Woman’s “Bracelets of Submission,” she would lose her Amazonian super strength. From a literary point of view, it makes sense. If there were no obstacles for superheroes, there would be no drama in what they had to do. Divya Parekh In the world of business and entrepreneurship, aim to be a hero. We want to be outstanding in our fields. Most people look at being a hero in the real sense of the word — namely, to positively affect and help more people. After all, isn’t that what true heroes do? The problem is that, like superheroes, we all have obstacles that get into our way. These can have the same ne...

Why Strategy is Important – Stella Olivia Kikoyo

Strategy!  What is this and does your organisation have one in place?   This is a term that is often used loosely.  Everyone seems to have their own understanding of it albeit most business leaders will agree that they need a strategy.  All businesses need a strategy not only to survive but also to thrive, and definitely this need is greater today than it has ever been before due to increased competition. Yet according to Michael Porter – a professor at Harvard Business School, many organisations or leaders do not strategise. Stella Olivia Kikoyo Whilst there are many definitions (or descriptions) of strategy, I will engage with only a few, which hopefully will provoke your assessment whether you have one. Strategies for Success in Your Goals for Personal Growth – Ann Justi

Write down twenty-two things for 2022 that you want and you think are hard. I know we are past the first quarter of 2022.  Just do it.  Dream big. Now decide on one action towards one of the goals. Set yourself up for success. If you don’t know where to start, look at how someone else did it and follow their example.  Success leaves clues.  If looking does not work for you, then ask.  Yes, it’s scary and most of the time you get a “no” - but sometimes, you will get a “yes,” and you’ll never get the “yes” if you never ask. What if it all worked out?  I recently was talking with a millionaire; no one famous, but someone who tried to achieve his family's dream for several years.  He said that the first ninety days are the hardest when you think ...

The weather is improving and “SUMMER’’ is here! – Farah Zaidi

It is time to start changing the way we treat our skin. As we emerge into summer, our skin is exposed less to cold/dry air, more to higher moisture levels, more sunshine and warmer temperatures. This is a great time to change and update our skincare routine. To start off with, my favourite, SUNSCREEN! As the sun shines down on us, we need to increase the SPF rating in our skin care. Ideally, a minimum of SPF30 if going about our daily routines. Obviously if you plan to travel and go to warmer climates near the equator you should be opting for higher SPF and trying to avoid the sun at its peak between 11am - 3pm. Try and stay in the shade or at least use light clothing as cover up. I would also recommend to look for a ‘physical sunscreen’ which contains titanium or zinc oxide - the...

When I first started, I couldn’t seem to catch a break, no matter what I did, I kept getting knocked down over and over again and It seemed like every sales call would fall flat, I hardly had any conversions. Potential clients liked me and my work but were looking for a body of work I had done, I had experience, but I could not share it in a way that builds authority. Desp...

6 Things Every Stellar Woman Should Know About Sustainable Fashion

Sustainable fashion is a term that’s increasingly used (and overused) these days, as we all become ever more aware of the serious environmental impact of our clothes. The industry is responsible for a shocking four to 10 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions every year – a figure that can’t be overlooked considering the urgency of the climate crisis we’re facing right now. But what does sustainable fashion actually mean? In short, it’s an umbrella term for clothes that are created and consumed in a way that can be, quite literally, sustained, while protecting both the environment and those producing garments. That’s why cutting CO2 emissions, addressing overproduction, reducing pollution and waste, supporting biodiversity, and ensuring that garment workers are paid a fair wage and...
